As we get older we attend at least one wedding a year. Whether its brother, sister, coworker, or friend someone is always getting married, and along with that comes the question. What do I wear? More times than none it will have the dress code on the invitation (Black-Tie, Formal, Cocktail/ Semi-formal, and Casual). But if your still not sure what to wear here are a few tips.
Black-Tie
This type of wedding leaves nothing to the imagination when it comes to a look, it literally tells you in the name. That doesn't mean throw a black-tie on with any ole thing.
MUST WEAR A BLACK TIE!
Tuxedo jacket and pants in dark colors.
Black patent leather shoes or a velvet loafer.
DO NOT WEAR WHITE!
Formal
Think Black Tie without the black-tie, if that makes any sense to you at all. Here you can wear a printed tie.
Wear a dark color suit or tuxedo
Light-colored shirt
Dress shoes with laces.
Accessorize your suit with a tie, pocket square, and socks.
DO NOT MIX-MATCH SUITS.
Cocktail/ Semi-Formal
Dress as if you were going to dinner at an upscale restaurant because tonight at $50 a plate you're an expensive date.
Wear a suit
A necktie isn't needed
Feel free to play with color shirts
NO JEANS
Casual
You can breathe and relax, this should be fun and painless.
Chinos, Jeans, and slacks are all appropriate.
If you're not wearing a tie then wear a blazer
A dress sneaker is fine.
Throw on a print.
DO NOT WEAR RIPPED JEANS.
We always think that men getting ready is so much simpler but clearly they have a lot to consider too!
